A few weeks ago I mentioned about doing a makeover on my
Karlstad sofa I got from Ikea two years ago. I was really wanting a brown cover but felt theirs would be too dark so I searched the web for people that made covers for Ikea sofas and actually found a few. Though it was
Comfort Works that had the colors I was looking for and offered fabric samples!
The shop requires you pick five samples so I added two in that weren't really what I was looking for but were worth a shot.
The Urbanskin Krafors leather was way too dark and the Nomad Sand was nice but just blended with all the beige going on in the apartment (i.e walls and carpet)
This left the the three browns I was leaning towards and of course I ran around the living room putting up swatches against..everything. Gala Cafe was 100% cotton but wasn't the color brown I was looking for where as the Kino Brown was a nice brown but matched too well to the brown in the furniture (which I'm not trying to matchy matchy). This left Kino Taupe which was more towards the light brown I was looking for and brought the different shades of browns and black I have in the living room together.
Now the price difference is not that much for getting the color I wanted. Though the difference is larger on the intial cost when you add shipping the difference was less than $100. I'm not going to be ordering the cover right away because after thinking about it I need to save for the beach but once I can save up for it again I'll definitely be ordering this cover!
