My Cafe

I want my cafe menu to be simple but different instead of way too over the top where no one knows what to order. I want to have classic sandwiches with a twist or something different. I want to try different soups like home-style vegetable, parsnip & carrot, or loaded baked potato (made it in class and oh my it's delicious). I want to make in house pastries and desserts more than just the special cupcake or cookie (which nothing is wrong with that) but also seasonal cakes (pumpkin pound cake comes to mind) or tarts, muffins, rolls and turnovers. I want people to add shots of flavor to any drink and make it their own. Art and community are going to be an important part of the cafe. I can't wait until I can start getting real head way on this place!

Anyone Else Excited?

Anyone else excited about the premiere of the second half of Doctor Who Season 7? I'm trying to avoid spoilers that I don't know about and it's so hard. I have to work tonight so I'll have to wait until I get home to watch it so that kind of sucks. If I didn't work I would love to have some kind of Whovian gathering/ party for it but my television isn't that big, all my Whovian friends live far away. Oh well time to get ready for work.

Obsession Wednesday

With Fall already making it's way in I can't help but think of all the cozy sweaters, beanies, scarfs and all things knitted. So this week for Obsession Wednesday I'm drooling over these knitted beauties!

Why is it...

when I’m typing something it sounds brilliant then I post it then realize all the minor spelling errors. Like forgetting to add an ‘ing’ or forgetting a word that would make the sentence make sense. I think it happens because I delete what I write or rewrite the sentence in certain parts. Then while I’m reading over it I read it  how I had it in my head. It sucks major especially when you can’t go back and correct it. I feel like a failure when it happens. Does this happen to you? Doesn't it suck?

Vintage Finds: 8/20/11

I went to go shopping with my Mom this Saturday plus go visit the Grandparents. Coming down I saw all the yard sale signs and so wanted to stop but decided to stick to my destination. Well it just so happened some neighbors/fellow church goers were having a garage sale and oh the wonderful things they had in that garage. Here are are some of the goodies I got all for under $5 :)

So the bedroom is coming along nicely! There is finally one dresser and there is the new lovely bedding we got for a great price now I just need the small details and I'll have another room finished!!

The dresser is antique so are the knobs which aren't really our style. This knob still keeps the antique feel but some pretty colors in there as well.

Obsession Wednesday

With school just around the corner I've been obsessing over wedge shoes. My only concern is I had a ultimate thrift find pair of brand new Mary Jane heels (with white scallops) from Good that I wore the first day last year. Well I'm a commuter so I park in the lovely gravel lot and just by walking from my car to the sidewalk my shoes heels were all scratched up from the rock pieces. I still want some nice heels but still hesitant on spending money just yet. Still I obsess over them via internet right?
