Hi,
Just wanted to pop in here and hope everyone had a great Memorial Day! I went over to the Grandparents and had lunch then went shopping, sang along to a Back Street Boy song in the store, and got a Valo-milk. Though most of the day was spent inside (despite the shopping) I did get a little tan on my legs while walking the dogs. I had a great day in general and got to talk to my little sister and brother :) How was your day? Is there any tradition that you do on Memorial Day?

Something Old
I have a sweet spot for old buildings even the run down looking ones. For me I don't see a mess but a potential for something amazing and I hate seeing buildings or old houses lay to waste. Though I adore these buildings I remind myself just how much time and labor that would have to go into fixing it and not to mention the amount of money it would take. So instead of signing a lease or buying these beautiful buildings I'll just stare at them and imagine them as the amazing places that they could be or until I hit the jackpot.

Obsession Wednesday
If you know me then this obsession is not new but I love love love owls! I really don't know what started my love for owls but I really want to start an owl collection. So far I have an owl trinket my Mom bought at an estate-style antique store, golden owl trivet, an owl pillow and owl mug/candle. Here are some amazing products, photos and amazing pieces of art that incorporate owls.
If you know the source please let me know!

Late Night Posting
I have to "talk" it out otherwise I'd be up for hours just thinking about a bizillion ideas and not get to bed until morning. So I've been working on my etsy shop, Craft'n Bettie, a lot lately and was imaging what would happen if I actually decided to open a small shop. Of course I'd offer jewelry, vintage jewelry, accessories and maybe do upcyling with clothing and such so it'd be grander than what I'd have on etsy now. I love creating and taking old and making into new but I never pushed myself to doing so much just because I was playing cautious. Now I'm still taking baby steps with the esty shop and I only have a few vintage and upcycled items. It's not like I'm going to wake up tomorrow and rent a building but it'd be very interesting to see how far I can take Bettie. Though my mind is bursting with fun ideas for Bettie I still have the voice in my head telling me, "But what about the cafe?" Opening up my own cafe/coffee shop has been something that I've been passionate about since high school and it just gives me a rush of excitement (even the math of it and conflict of it all)and I've never felt this much about anything else besides this shop idea (even when I wanted to be a stylist I never felt a true passion for it I just liked fashion.) I mean I'm even going to college specially for management in restaurant food and beverage and considering doing a program for a baking and pastry degree. I know I don't have to make a decision now and there is a possible I could do both (though the cafe would be full time until I get it settled and same would go for the Bettie shop) I'm just freaking out a bit since I'll be graduating next year. Now I know I wouldn't be opening a cafe as soon as I graduate (maybe 5 years afterwards) and I'd need experience which is why I'm looking towards the baking and pastry degree to put my foot in the door. I just don't know which way to go without leaving one behind unless I do like Red Velvet and have sweet shop in the store. Either one I choose would be hard work and I'm up for the challenge. And a degree in management for restaurant is in general management of something (just happens to be a little more sensitive since it is food) I'm just excited yet confused at the moment. If you made it this far then virtual hugs to you! I just feel if I re-read it to myself it makes much more sense then it being scattered all over the place in my mind. Alright goodnight folks and have a Happy Monday!!

Obsession Wednesday
This weeks obsession is vintage Pyrex serving ware. It started a few yeas ago when I noticed this beautiful golden orange serving dish with white florals in one of the cabinets at my grandmothers house. I then started to look for items similar to it and began to realize that is wasn't just some old serving dish but a vintage Pyrex dish! I'm hoping to go to an antique show, famous for having vintage Pyrex pieces, in a few months. I'm so excited!
