Everything is coming along very well and I have more jewelry to make. I still need to pick up some flat rate boxes for the vintage items plus I was considering selling some vintage tea cup and platter sets I don't use. My only worry is shipping but I guess that is why I have bubble wrap. Hopefully I'll have it up and running sometime in February or March!

Dye with Tea
For my current project I needed to dye the fabric to give it a more antique look. Instead of spending money on dye I used this simple mess free method to get that antique effect.
What you'll need:
- Individual tea bags (about 6)
- Large Pot or Sauce Pan
- Canvas bag or any white cotton fabric
- Tongs or Large Spoon
- Boil water, reduce heat and steep 6 individual packets of tea (more if you want a darker shade.)
- Once it is at the desired color turn off heat.
- Submerge fabric in the tea using tongs or a large spoon to keep it under the tea water.
- Let sit for at least 10-15 minutes.
- Drain the tea water and rinse the fabric under cold water.
- Twist to get as much water out of the fabric and let dry (either by using a dryer or hanging)
What you end up with is a tan/beige tone for your fabric at a very low cost.

Pick Friday
I almost forgot about Pick Friday. I know shame on me. Okay I'm going to do my 5 picks of this week but more of a kitchen edition. To be more specific my kitchen. I didn't do much to it because I wasn't sure what style I was going for, but now I figured it out (really inspired by the oven mitts) here are a few starters.
Couldn't resist this kitchy looking storage bowl. Wouldn't leftovers look so adorable in this?
Very vintage farm-esk and very what I was looking for in storage jars. I wish I saw these instead of the other ones we purchase there.
Chalkboard Wall Decal
Because I love to doodle and make list and this way I can do both. Plus I can totally use it as a menu board for dinner :)
I really wanted just a mustard colored dinner set, but these are as close as I could get to any form of that yellow. Still I love it's vintage embroidered edges which add style to the kitchen table.

Sorry for my Absence
I've been real busy with school projects, work and getting Craft'n Bettie started. So here are some cute duck embroidered fabric in frames I'm going to sell on Craft'n Bettie.
I also picked up some purses I'm going to fix up and decorate. I also have some plates (plain and floral) that I was thinking of selling but I'm worried about being damaged during shipping. There is a postal store that sells mailing stuff so they may have something that'd protect it. I'm going to pick up some more vintage stuff to add to the handmade jewelry and accessories.

Playing catch up
I'll be MIA for this weekend because I'm up to my eyeballs in school work and have little time to do it. I had planned on starting my Pick Friday's this Friday but seems it'll have to wait another week. I do have a project I'm about to start and it will show you how to make a semi knock-off designer pillow (with a few cute adjustments.) I'll start doing it next week once my school life is on schedule. I also have an article I am still writing, it'll be postponed a bit but I should have it posted by this month. Alright I'm going to nap as it seems I'm about to fall asleep on my keyboard. Everyone have a great weekend and I'll catch up with you later!

Collage Wall
I added the coffee sign to the collage wall. I just need a few more frames which I think I'll put some more personal pictures in it and it should be finished! I may end up changing out the coffee sign later (to put in the kitchen) but until then it stays.

Oh also...
I was thinking of adding a few weekly/monthly things to the blog. I started a monthly thing on the old webpage called Linked where I showcased sites (blogs, etsy, etc) that features interior design or homemade items and such. The next thing I'm thinking about starting is a Pick [insert day] where I just show some of the awesome items I find online. I'm just not sure what day I want to post them every week, but I'll figure it out eventually. Alright last post for tonight. Goodnight!
It's times like these...
I wish I had a house with a fireplace. They're calling for a major snow storm tonight, and that's not the bad part, freezing rain is suppose to come after all that snow. Now snow in North Carolina isn't fluffy but very icy and stays on the road. It's hard to drive on until someone clears it off or if you have a monster truck with four wheel drive. When you add freezing rain into the mix you're basically a prisoner inside your house. There is also the huge chance of the power going out and having no heat. A nice warm fire place would be super great even right now with the power and heat on. Oh well I'll have one someday. Everyone keep warm and have a happy Monday tomorrow!

Jewelry Frame
- Photo Frame
- Cork Tiles
- Push Pin Hooks or Decorative Push Pins
- Glue
- Pen
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Cardboard
1. On the back of the cork tiles roughly outline the photo frame and cut out.
2. With the ruler measure out the photo size the frame is suppose to hold and cut out.
3. If your tile is in pieces go a head and glue the edges together. Let dry.
4. Glue the cork into the lip of the photo frame.
5. Cut the cardboard to the same size you did for the cork and slide in the back of the frame like you would the picture.
6. Put in decortive push pins or the push pin hooks near the bottom of the frame (push it slightly through the card board but not where it pokes out.)
7. Hang up on a wall and hang your necklaces and earrings on.
If you have any questions or want to know where to find the material feel free to ask.

Project Restyle
Two amazing blogs are doing this whole Project Restyle where you take unwanted, unusable, or thrifted items to create something new at a budget friendly price. So I have this frame that I found at Goodwill years ago that I tried to paint white. It ended up turning pink (sorta) so I kept painting it all the while losing the glass and backing for it. It's just laying around looking pretty with no purpose. So my idea is to take some cork (I have those cork squares from an old project) and these push pin hooks (I got on clearance at Walmart) and make it a jewelry frame. I already have a beautiful jewelry box but it is so packed full of earrings and rings it is just a mess. The plan is to take my big earrings that take up space and put them on the cork board and hang some of my necklaces on the hooks. I'll definitely post the whole process on here and hopefully it'll be around $10 at the most to make.

In the future
As you may or may not know I'm going to school to learn how to run my own restaurant, a cafe to be specific. As you would expect I wrangled up what my future cafe would look like!
This what I like the cafe to look like.
This is a little more detail.

Inspiration?
I really love this room...point blank, even though I usually go towards more danish modern. Maybe it's the pillows? or the bedspread or the vintage-ness of it all? Regardless I really love it and maybe I can try and save up enough money to get that bedspread from Dwell Studio. In the end I might just go explore cheaper alternative ideas but I will have that stripes bedspread (or maybe the fitted sheets will do.)

Just wanted to wish everyone...
Happy New Year!!
I tried to keep my new years resolution positive so I can actually accomplish them. First thing is eat more fruits and vegetables, and second is spend more time with my family. What are some of your New Years resolutions?
