Beach Trip 2012 Part 1

Last week at this time we were at Oak Island soaking up some sun! I took a ton of photos and got even more from my Mom and Grandma so instead of over loading the post I'm putting it in parts. Enjoy :)

Little Emma sat in the driver seat while waiting for everything to get packed in the car. It was a long ride but it was worth it to get some nice ocean air. This is our view on the porch at the rental house we stayed in. It wasn't right on the beach but only a few houses back.
Went and visited the Oak Island Light House but didn't go on a tour.
We ended up walking across the street to Caswell Beach and I zoomed in and got a photo of the Cape Fear Light House. On Tuesday we celebrated my Grandma's (Nanny) birthday and went to this awesome barbecue place called the Bar-B-Q House.
The Birthday Lady!
If you ever come to North Carolina you'll soon realize we mean business when it comes to barbecue and each region has their own flavors. They had a nice selection of those regional sauces at the table. Our favorites were the eastern (vinegar base) and Lexington style. Me and Dustin were playing around with the camera while waiting for our eats.

So that was the beginning of a whole slew of fun that happened at the beach :)

    1. It wouldn't have been the same if we stayed at some hotel (which they were really only motels from the 70's) and yes you need to make a trip and try the different styles! My favorite is the eastern(vinegar based sauce) with bbq slaw :)
