Handmade in America: Buying Homemade for the Holidays

One of my fellow bloggers Jamie from Found and Made is part of this amazing program and introduced me to the organization. Handmade in America is a nonprofit economic development organization, which started back in 1993, that has been helping to grow the craft economy. They have helped more than 4,00 crafts artist living and working in Western North Carolina and offer programs focused on entrepreneurship, market development, economic revitalization and advocacy. My degree concentration is entrepreneurship and I cannot stress how important it is to have both an idea plus an understanding of how the business world works in order to create a successful business. When you buy handmade you're offering others the opportunity to make their passion into a business and not to mention a unique product. So support your local crafts artist and small businesses and buy handmade for the holidays! For more information check out their website at www.handmadeinamerica.org and don't forget to pick up a button for your blog.
